Assembly Supervisor SUMMARY Using either dip or spray techniques, applies paint to surfaces of manufactured products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Selects appropriate paint hooks for the job, retrieves them, and places them on overhead conveyance.
Retrieves parts from containers and hangs them on appropriate paint hooks for transit through cleaning and drying system.
When painted and dried, removes parts from paint hooks and places them in containers taking particular pains to preserve finish quality.
Reviews work orders, routings, and work instructions to determine appropriate paint color and mixture.
Dilutes as required and fills and positions tanks for operation.
Monitors chemical characteristics of paint system wash water according to work instructions, and makes necessary additions.
Dips or sprays parts per work order and work instructions.
Operates oven and wash system controls to turn exhaust and circulation fans on and ignite gas burners to heat air and water.
Maintains and records accurate count of workpieces produced and personal hourly attendance data.
Practices safe work habits, maintains workplace in good order, and wears all issued personal protective equipment in the workplace.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPETENCE, AWARENESS AND TRAINING Competence, awareness, and training for probationary employees will be assessed by the New Employee Checklist, and the evaluations conducted and 30, 60, and 90 days, along with other training as needed.
Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned to.
